Progress

I'm making slow, but steady progress in my goal to lose weight. I'll take 1 pound per week. It's a healthy rate at which to lose. How is everyone else doing? Are you hanging in there with me? Still losing?

This week I plan on posting a new recipe on my Recipes tab and a new post here about misleading food labels I've found recently. More later...

  1. I weighed in at 224.3 lbs this morning so, technically, I gained a pound since my weigh-in last week. (Yesterday morning I weighed 220.1, so I don't get it.)

@Christy, keep goin' baby! We're with ya! (Aren't we, everybody?)

    1. Keep trying @STeven. You can do it! Are you dieting and exercising? Hubby and I are watching what we eat and taking dance lessons. He's noticing a big difference and has lost 7 pounds.

    2. Yeah, um, I've been kinda lax on the exercise portion of my exercise program. LOL! I'm being very careful about my diet though, especially lowering my sodium. I know once I get off my butt and exercise I'll lose quickly.

But you guys are rockin' with the dancin'! Good for you!

  2. Yay, @Christy! You've lost 6 pounds in all! that's so good! So what you're doing is just keeping track on the two things online? You're not doing Weight Watchers or anything? Let mek now I'm struggling. I've only lost 3 pounds.

@Steven I thought you were only going to weigh in one time a week. You go up and down during a week and I've found it's usually better just to weigh one time a week. I mean I'm not an expert, but that's what I've been told too. Hang in there. You'll lose it. It's a whole lot harder when you don't have much to lose. Didn't you say you only had 10 pounds? That's really tough to get off. Don't give up!

I wish I could do this faster. I get tired of the slow way.

    1. @Sarah: I have to monitor my blood pressure and part of that is to weigh myself before I take my b.p. so that's why I don't only check on Monday mornings. It's so weird that my weight fluctuates so much during the week. And, yeah, 10 lbs. is a weirdly small amount to lose (all in my midsection), but I'm gonna do it.

And you're going to keeping dropping weight – pound by pound – if you keep at it. Seriously. Losing weight, especially a lot, is a life-style change, and that's never easy. Or quick. You just have to keep doing it one day at a time, one meal at a time, one snack at a time. But YOU...CAN...DO...IT. You might lose 30 lbs in a couple weeks if you eat nothing but cabbage soup, and then you'll gain twice as much back. So your 3 lbs. rocks!

  4. I've lost 11 pounds so far! I'm using the Myfitnesspal and taking dance lessons with my hubby. We're having a blast! We don't just dance on the nights we have lessons, we practice at home at night. It's been so much fun. I recommend it to all you ladies. If you don't have a partner, see if you can find a place that doesn't require one. You won't regret it I promise!
